Sighting #001 Spotted — Wichita, KS

Scope
Logo redesign, brand file system, website, ongoing social media
Sector
Bar and grill, smoke shop and event venue
Habitat
2506 S. Oliver, Wichita, Kansas

Challenge

A brand new business starting from scratch, with no existing design or marketing team. They had created a logo using an AI logo generator, and on a computer screen, it looked finished.

Discovery

The original logo looked good on a screen, but it was not built for all the places a business actually needs to use a logo. Once it was reduced in size, printed in one color, embroidered, or used on signage, important details started getting lost.

The logo was never the problem. Printing it was.

Solution

We explored several directions before landing on a version that still felt like their original idea, but could actually hold up wherever they needed to use it.

Scope

Sector
Charity shooting event · 501(c)(3) beneficiary
Habitat
Flint Oak Hunting Lodge, Fall River, Kansas

Challenge

A full event website needed to be built from start to finish on a very short timeline. The only source material was a stack of flyers, and they did not all say the same thing.

Discovery

Once the event details were sorted out, the purpose behind it became the clear focus.

Nobody had the facts. They had flyers.

Solution

We started by creating one reliable set of event information so everyone was working from the same details.

Sighting #003 Spotted — Wichita, KS

Ready. Set. Picnic.

Brand Development · Website Design · Photo + Video
Scope
Brand development, website design, photography and videography
Sector
Styled picnic rentals
Habitat
Wichita and South Central Kansas

Challenge

A new styled-picnic rental business entering a category most people only know from other people's photographs. The pictures always look effortless. What nobody can tell from a photograph is whether booking one turns into a project: what you get, what it costs, and how much of the day you spend hauling things.

Discovery

The product isn't the styling. It's permission to stop planning. The business had already solved the hard part, that you don't buy, store, or haul any of it, and that sentence was doing more work than any photograph on the page. It wasn't leading anything.

Nobody wants a project. They want a picnic.

Ready. Set. Picnic. home page
Home page. The offer and the price, both above the fold.

Solution

Navy and gold, built around a pin-drop mark holding a sunrise and a picnic basket, because the whole promise is that the picnic arrives somewhere. The site opens on Picnic plans? Ready. Set. Picnic. and puts the price in the first screen. Five named Picnic Styles give people something to choose instead of something to design, and How It Works runs in order on the home page rather than hiding on its own tab.
